… mostly good though.

Thanks for the Seat Sale. I may poach some people from Forget for Seat Sale if that is cool.

The Cadre is finally being printed. Took it to The Guardian to be printed and the cover had an error, so I drive back to the office, fix it, drive back, further problems. Finally, finally at some point done. Finally. Negatives looked good. MacLeod’s ugly mug is on the back cover. Bewilderingly popular.

Drove around for a while after. Chilling out. Listening to Eels’ new album. The rock songs are good, “Dog Faced Boy” is great, rest is mediocre. I feel like a Japanese businessman driving in the Hyundai. Happy though. A happy Japanese businessman, on his way to upper-management. Happy wife. No kids. Yet. The Hyundai is a childless family sedan. The man who owned it before me was white, a salesman. He managed to put several small dents in it. Scratched up the bumper. Stole the front floor mats.

Am finishing the CFL piece for Forget. It didn’t go in The Cadre, wouldn’t fit. Watched Stamps vs. Ti-Cats on the 13th. Monday, maybe? Good game.

Surprisingly good game considering Hamilton looked like they might run away with it, up 24-14 at the half. And Calgary spending the 3rd kicking field goals. No offense from Hamilton. Should be plenty from Calgary, except Montford and the Hamilton defensive line have Sankey afraid. Montford is one of the most intimidating players I have ever seen. Constantly straining, reaching for Sankey. 24-23 on the strength of the field goals to start the 4th.

Sankey got sacked. A lot. Not often by Montford – surprising as he has incredible 81 sacks in four seasons – but you could actually see him frighten Sankey into a few of those tackles, into errant throws and rushed plays. Stamps barely had a passing game. Best receiver injured. Sankey hesitant to throw. I think the sacks got to him. By the fourth he was over and under throwing. Waiting. The only passes he got off were on the run. Under pressure. Sliding another two feet short of another first down.

McManus got a touchdown in there somewhere. His ugly little bootleg shuffle into the end zone.

Anderson for Calgary is amazing. His touchdown put Stamps up 32-25, made him new all time rushing leader for Calgary. I think he has a gold tooth. Just looked like a missing tooth on TV. Made him look goofy. Often disappeared into crowds of Ti-Cat white. Reappearing quickly on the other side with no explanation. Leaping one defender, disassembled by the next. Again and again.

Amerson gets in trouble for roughing Barnes. Throws him into the Stamps’ bench. Bench empties and has words with Amerson. The whole game hits hard. Frers for Calgary drops a shoulder into someone. Sounds like an egg against a sidewalk.

McManus does the usual. He can throw. Can’t throw. Can. Can’t. Then the touchdown pass to Grant. Just over thirty yards. The two-point conversion to Grigg. The game is suddenly tied. 33-33. Seventy seven seconds left.

Ti-Cats’ Vaughn blocks the punt. Gets the safety. Hamilton wins it 35-33.

OK. It’s nearly 4:00am. Perpetually. Have to get up for class tomorrow at 10:00pm. Fuck, yeah. Goddamn classes. I could skip. Shouldn’t skip. Group work and what not. I don’t enjoy speaking with people before noon. No guarantees after either.

Should I go to Halifax to see The Weakerthans, or spend the weekend working?

Sleep now.

Out.
