When There's Nothing To Say

1
These are the poems he took from the garbage
2
I’ve been banished downstairs
3
I don’t know if she can still smile
she is so thin
4

5
I haven’t seen her for thirty-three years
I’ll come back if there’s nothing to say
6
She said, ‘I’ll give you seven bucks, ten if you bring it upstairs’
7
Her eyes were the same although she can no longer see
8
I whispered a line from her poem
9
She hated her sister because she had everything
10
She read a love letter
I once thought she was cold
